Abe Sleiman has spent two decades building homes, a business, and a life in this community. Now he is stepping up to build something for all of Castle Downs.
“Married 21 years. Father of five. Builder for twenty.”
Abe is a lifelong Edmontonian, a family man, and a small business owner who has spent more than two decades building things: homes, a company, and a life in this community.
Abe has been married to his wife for 21 years, and together they have raised five children. After earning a diploma in petroleum engineering and working in the field for several years, Abe made the choice to move into the city and build a career closer to home. He went on to spend over 20 years in construction, focused on home renovations and new home building. Fourteen years ago, he partnered with a close friend to launch an excavation and demolition company that today employs about 10 people. He has also been a licensed, bonded real estate agent for 21 years.
Running his own business has given Abe a first-hand view of the cost pressures facing everyday Albertans: rising construction costs, red tape, and taxes that are making it harder for the next generation to ever own a home. That is why he is stepping up to run, to be a practical, business-minded voice for Castle Downs, and to bring the same no-nonsense approach that has worked in his business to the job of representing his community.
Abe is not a career politician. He is a builder, an employer, and a neighbour. He is running because he believes government should be run the way he has run his business: responsibly, honestly, and with the people it serves front and center.
“I've spent my career building homes and running a business here in this community. I've seen first-hand how red tape and government waste make life harder and more expensive for regular families. I'm running because I want my kids, and every family in Castle Downs, to be able to afford a home and build a future here. I believe in conservative values, and I want to bring the same hard work and honesty I've built my business on to representing this community.”
Three priorities, straight from the doorsteps of Castle Downs. No slogans, just the things families here actually talk about.
Castle Downs families deserve to feel safe in their homes, on transit, and in their neighbourhoods. Abe will push for stronger enforcement, real consequences for repeat offenders, and proper support for the police who keep our communities safe.
Abe builds homes for a living, so he knows exactly what drives up the cost of one. He will fight the red tape, taxes, and government waste that make life more expensive for regular families, so the next generation can still afford a home here.
Families in Castle Downs should be able to see a doctor when they need one. Abe will be a practical voice for shorter wait times, more front-line capacity, and a system that puts patients ahead of bureaucracy.
